Structures Of The Deep South

Most people who started in photography thirty or more years ago, learned the rudiments of black and white photography. Producing a black and white photograph involved a process of producing a print from a negative. The final print could be framed for display at an art show or gallery. Even after years of enjoying color photography, I consider black and white photography to be the true art form of photography.

During my photography ventures from those early years, I have accumulated hundreds of black and white negatives in both 35 mm and medium format. Recently looking at some of these old negatives, was like visiting an old friend. It was then, while looking at the negatives of old buildings and man made structures, that I came up with the idea for this volume in black and white, "Structures Of The Deep South."

Many of the old farm houses in these photographs were never painted. Unpainted buildings in many of the Southern states were not subject to taxes, as they were considered still under construction.

To produce this book, each of the original negatives was digitally scanned and then printed with an ink jet printer using archival pigmented ink.

It is my hope that you will enjoy looking at these images as much as I have enjoyed creating them.

There are forty seven pages with eighty seven individual photographs in the book.

Index pages in the back of the book correlate to each photograph and give information about the photograph.

The price of the book is $60.00 payable by check or money order (no plastic please), The price includes shipping, handling and applicable sales tax. Allow three weeks for delivery.
